41 miles so far. I’ve just stopped for another break. It’s been a long day. We got out of Jenkins just fine at about 6. We got to the Bland hitch at about 10:20 and back on the road with two days worth of snacks and full stomachs at about 1:00.
It was a very easy hike into Jenny’s Knob. It only took about 4 hours to do the 12 miles and the views were great. FedEx decided it was as far as he was going and I still was a bundle of energy, so I continued on.
I’m now up on the highlands area before Doc’s Knob Shelter and it’s about 1am. I kept going a lot farther than I thought I would and am pretty tired. I’ve taken a couple long breaks, one for dinner especially, but am gonna push on a bit before I set up my hammock. I want to get into town early because tomorrow is supposed to be freezing cold.
