17.5 miles today. It was a good day, but it was HOT. I measured 85 degrees at one point. The terrain wasn’t too bad, but there were some pretty steep spots.
The shelter here is AWESOME. It was only built a year ago and is really well designed. Getting into Kincora tomorrow is gonna be really nice. It’s only $4 a night with showers and shuttles. Gut Hook is all set to find a huge steak dinner somewhere. I don’t know about that, but I’m looking forward to a huge, cheap meal.
I’m gonna try to get up early tomorrow and hike while it’s dark to avoid the bulk of the heat. We’ll see how that goes. My left foot still hurts, but not as much. Oh, and today marks the 400 mile marker.
Toodles,
Seth “Osprey” Schumacher
