Chocolate Bread (Challah) Pudding

Ingredients
- 12 oz Challah (Cubed)
- 1½ cup Chocolate Chips
- 4 Eggs (Beaten)
- 3 cups Half & Half or Cream
- 1 cup Brown Sugar (Packed)
- ¾ tsp Cinnamon
- 1 cup Chopped Nuts
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbl Corn Starch
- ⅓ cup Half & Half or Cream
- ¼ cup Water
- 2 Tbl Light Corn Syrup
- 1 Tbl Butter
- ½ tsp Vanilla
Instructions
- Combine bread cubes and chocolate chips and place in greased 9x13 pan. Combine eggs, 3 cups cream, 1 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, and dash of salt. Pour over bread and press lightly to moisten bread completely. Sprinkle with nuts.
- Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes (Until Set)
- SAUCE: In small, heavy saucepan, combine ½ cup brown sugar and cornstarch; stir in ⅓ cup cream, water, and corn syrup. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly (may look curdled.) Cook and stir 2 more minutes. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. Pour over hot pudding.
- Let stand 30 minutes.
