Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 c. Butter (2 sticks)
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 2 ½ c. Unsifted flour
- 1 tsp. Baking soda
- ½ tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon (optional)
- ? tsp. Nutmeg (optional)
- 1 ½ c. Oats
- 1 c. Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. Walnuts
- 1 c. raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Heat oven to 370ºF.
- Cream butter with the sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- Stir flour with baking soda, salt (and spices); add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in the oats.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets .
- Bake 12 minutes.. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, then transfer to wire cooling racks. Store in a tightly sealed container.
- Makes about 6 dozen 2-inch cookies.
